Privacy policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Noos Puzzle Lab ("we", "us") collects and why. The service is run by Noos Network. Questions: [email protected].
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, first name (optional), what you use puzzles for (optional) and a hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
- What you make: a record of each pack, word search or bingo PDF you build (title, type, date), the PDF itself, and the words you type into the word search maker. We keep puzzle history so you do not receive the same puzzle twice.
- Billing: if you subscribe, payment is handled by PayPal. We receive your PayPal subscription reference and status, not your card or bank details.
- Waiting list: if you join our launch list we keep your email address, and send you one email when we open, then you are not emailed again unless you create an account.
- Emails we send: activation and password codes, receipts and plan notices. If you opt in, a monthly email with a link to new puzzle packs. You can switch the monthly email off at any time from your dashboard or with the link in every email.
- Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) kept for security and fault-finding.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in and protect forms from forgery. It is deleted when you close your browser. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Why we use it
To run your account and deliver what you ask for (contract), to keep the service secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interests), to meet legal and tax obligations, and to send the monthly email only if you opt in (consent).
Who sees it
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the services needed to run the site: PayPal (payments), our hosting and email providers, and Cloudflare (security and delivery). Each acts on our instructions or under its own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account is open. Generated PDFs are kept for a limited time, then removed. If you ask us to delete your account we remove your personal data, apart from records we must keep for accounting or legal reasons.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, object to some uses, and withdraw consent. Email us and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Noos Puzzle Lab is for adults and for teachers, carers and parents who print puzzles for others. Please do not create an account if you are under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you by email.
